Here at Puddleplants we are passionate about pond plants and provide a wide range of both British native and ornamental pond plants and bog garden plants. We cater for both small and large customers and can deliver marginal pond plants, oxygenating and floating plants, deep water plants, irises and water lilies direct to your pond!

For those of you that are new to pond planting, or find the choice and variety a bit daunting, our wide selection of British native and ornamental pond plant and bog garden collections are suitable ready-made solutions for planting new ponds or rejuvenating old ones. Irises

Irises are a must for any water or bog garden, with strong architectural upright sword-shaped leaves which produce spectacular flowers in late spring or early summer, with a wide variety of colours, flower size, shapes and petal variations.

Our irises can be split into two groups: those that will flourish in water all year around (the true water irises) and those that are better suited to a bog garden. As a general rule the bog irises are not suitable to be planted in the pond margins all year around, whilst the true water irises will be happy in a bog garden that is reliably moist all year around.

Marginal Pond Plants

Marginal plants are so named as they inhabit the shallower water at margins (edges) of the pond. Many marginal plants are also happy in waterlogged or wet bog areas surrounding the pond, as long as the soil doesn’t dry out during the summer or drier spells, so they overlap with the Bog garden plants and may appear in both categories of our site.
