About the Business
Hestercombe is an independent charity and all proceeds from admissions, retail and events support the restoration, maintenance and development of the gardens. Registered Charity number 1060000. We are open all year round 10am to 5.30pm, except Christmas Day. There are full details to assist visitors on our Visitor Information pages Hestercombe is a unique collection of three gardens spanning three centuries of garden history and design. All have undergone acclaimed restoration works and today provide important examples of gardens in contrasting styles that continue to grow and develop. In particular, Hestercombe's Formal Garden is a fine example of the world renowned partnership between plants-women, Gertrude Jekyll and architect, Sir Edwin Lutyens. In addition to the magnificent gardens, the Visitor Centre has award-winning facilities. The bright and airy Courtyard is a delight to enjoy a leisurely coffee or a delicious lunch, al fresco.
