About the Business
I'm Kirsty Pardede. I set up Eden Garden Design in 2014 after graduating from the prestigious Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew with the Kew Apprenticeship in Botanical Horticulture, the year before.
My love of plants & gardens has existed since childhood but it was at the age of 20, employed as a Plant Area Assistant in a Native Wildflower Nursery in Australia, that I realised I could turn my passion into a career. In 2010, I was accepted onto the Kew Apprenticeship, a highly regarded horticultural qualification for which only 4 candidates are selected each year from applications across the globe.
During my 3 years at RBG, Kew I had the opportunity to maintain and develop a broad range of gardens from formal, walled gardens and seasonal herbaceous borders to more naturalistic woodland gardens. In my final year, I worked on the re-design of the Directors Garden, a private garden used by the Director and his family but often for formal and VIP events.
During my time at the world famous Kew Gardens, I attained RHS Qualifications in Horticulture and Design to Level 3 and over the years, I have worked in several gardens, both public and private. An adventurer at heart, I've followed my love of the natural world across the globe to study plants in the wild in places such as France, Spain, New Zealand and Borneo. When I'm not designing gardens for my clients or pottering in my own garden, I spend my time reading, running and rock climbing.
I also write a weekly gardening column for the Helensburgh Advertiser, focusing on everything from seasonal gardening tips to my thoughts on specific plants and professional advice concerning horticultural practices. You can catch up on all my columns on my blog page.
Founded on my passion for plants and meticulous attention to detail, Eden Garden Design aims to combine horticultural experience with creative design. I work closely with each client to understand their lifestyle and vision of the perfect garden, ensuring they receive the service that best meets their individual needs.
