About the Business
I have always been fascinated by nature and the beauty which is all around us in the birds, animals, insects, plants and sky. My interest in plants and flowers grew during twenty years in Kenya, where I took up botanical watercolour painting. On my return to England in 1989, when we acquired our own property, gardening became my main interest, followed by garden design. After completing a correspondence course with the Institute of Garden Design in Bristol, I then took a City and Guilds course in garden design at the Abingdon and Witney College near Oxford. This course concluded with the students creating a show garden at the Blenheim Palace Flower Show in June 2003 for which we were awarded a Silver Medal. Over the last fourteen years I have designed around sixty gardens for clients, some of which can be seen on my Gardens I've Designed page. The most exciting thing for me is to work out how a client's needs and dreams can be fitted into what, initially, may seem a boring or unusable space.
