About the Business
Brenda and Severine met in 2009 whilst working at a community garden centre in Manchester - a friendship quickly blossomed and soon after a 'Bud' began to form. They found the perfect bijou site in Burnage, which had been a garden centre for many years, though long since commercially viable and in a considerable state of disrepair. After months of work, which involved pulling down decrepit fences and asbestos sheds, removing a 25 year stockpile of plant pots and toxic garden chemicals, erecting a polytunnel and sourcing great quality UK grown plants, Bud Garden Centre opened its gates in April 2011.
A new chapter began in early 2015, which saw Brenda take over the sole running of the business, after Severine's departure to concentrate on her flourishing design business, Grassroots Gardening.
To encourage creative planting and gardening, and a care for the environment through sustainable practices. We provide a range of gardening products suitable for organic gardening.
